As a Data Scientist, you will balance being a prolific individual contributor to their pipelines, tables, and models while steering the development of their products and services through the development, maintenance, and application of data. You will help bridge the gap between Engineering & Business with insights while driving the development of their data services. In addition, you will help to set the culture, rituals, and processes that underpin a high-functioning team and the organization more broadly.

YOU WILL

  • Have a central role in the development of core company insurance initiatives within our Django/Python systems, ensuring they align with Insurance needs.
  • Work alongside our Underwriting team to address complex underwriting issues, and design updates and features to solve them.
  • Enhance existing tools for increased scale and efficiency, improving internal workflows and processes.
  • Design and implement new systems, emphasizing performance, extensibility, and scalability, aligning with evolving technological demands.

YOU HAVE

  • Minimum 5 years of Python experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Django experience
  • Understanding of database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with Node JS or Ruby
  • Multiple years of experience building and maintaining APIs in Production
  • Experience working with remote team members
  • Ability to speak boldly and honestly to catch mistakes early
  • An analytical mindset coupled with the ability to derive meaningful insights and solutions from data
  • A drive to constantly seek novel ways to understand and automate processes
  • Experience at companies under 50 employees and an understanding of the agility and adaptability that come with startup life
